About the position

The Clinical Supervisor for the Family Trauma Intervention Program (FTIP) is responsible for providing clinical, administrative, and reflective supervision to staff, ensuring quality service delivery to children and families affected by trauma. This role involves leadership, coordination with program managers, and community representation, while also offering direct clinical support as needed. The supervisor is expected to maintain best practices and contribute to the professional development of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical, administrative and reflective supervision to specified FTIP employees.
  • Coordinates and works closely with Clinical Program Manager and Program Seniors to complete administrative tasks such as overseeing data collection and maintaining accurate records.
  • Acts as an administrative liaison to partners and funders, receiving and assigning referrals, and attending meetings with funders.
  • Participates in weekly individual supervision, FTIP administrative meetings, and monthly reflective supervision group for supervisors.
  • Reviews case notes and assessments to ensure quality services and best practices are followed.
  • Provides ongoing feedback and coaching to staff, ensuring up-to-date case information and client records.
  • Completes staff performance appraisals in consultation with the Clinical Program Manager and HR.
  • Oversees the interviewing and hiring process for staff positions as needed.
  • Provides onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing staff.
  • Acts as a member of the on-call supervisory rotation and crisis response team, requiring evening and weekend availability.
  • Collaborates with community agencies as an advocate for quality services for children and families.
  • Attends mandatory trainings and community-level meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years' experience working with trauma, children, and families.
  • Extensive experience providing clinical and administrative supervision and program oversight.
  • Licensed upon hire or within six months of hire in some circumstances.
  • Expertise in therapeutic work with children and families.
  • Solid understanding of generational trauma, trauma, loss, poverty, and adversity.
  • Experience with Family Therapy and Child-Parent Psychotherapy.
  • Strong reflective supervision skills and comfort providing administrative supervision.
  • Endorsement through the New York State Association of Infant Mental Health at an Endorsed Reflective Supervisor level or endorsement within 18 months of hire.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse professionals.

Nice-to-haves
