About the position

The Clinical Supervisor for the Mental Health Training Program at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for providing high-quality clinical supervision to pre-masters students and post-masters associate level providers in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. This role involves overseeing clinical documentation, treatment planning, and crisis response protocols, while also participating in hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations. The supervisor will work regionally across various medical centers or locally, ensuring compliance with California licensing requirements and program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical supervision per California Board requirements covering all aspects of the supervisee's role.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary procedures for interns, students, associates, and licensed therapists.
  • Conduct timely and thorough performance evaluations of supervisees.
  • Provide training and supervision in key treatment modalities and evidence-based practices (EBPs).
  • Respond to and resolve service, access, quality, and provider concerns/issues related to supervisees.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures to meet organizational goals related to supervisees.
  • Partner with school program field liaisons to complete necessary paperwork and requirements for field placements.
  • Use outcome measures to train, coach, and mentor supervisees in providing high-quality clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Mental Health Training Program team for student/intern/associate placements.
  • Analyze departmental volume/workload indicators and evaluate/improve utilization and productivity of supervisees.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of post-license, paid experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team.
  • Master's degree in a field related to mental health such as psychology, social work, counseling, or behavioral science.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).

Nice-to-haves

  • Five (5) years of post-license, paid experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team.
