About the position

The Clinical Supervisor at StepStone Family & Youth Services is responsible for overseeing the Therapeutic Foster Care Program, ensuring compliance with clinical policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves leading treatment team consultations, reviewing assessments and treatment plans, and providing support to foster care staff to meet client needs effectively. The Clinical Supervisor also plays a key role in quality improvement planning and staff training development.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of Stepstone foster care programs and complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Oversees local treatment team of therapists and provides individual clinician consultations monthly and as needed.
  • Monitors local clinical staff providing therapy for compliance with various regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and evidenced-based program requirements.
  • Provides support to all foster care staff to ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
  • Ensures program adherence to all clinical policies and procedures and trauma informed care best practices.
  • Assists and coaches clinicians providing therapy in the development of treatment plans, completion of assessments, and overall service delivery.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff during placement disruption meetings.
  • Provides guidance and support to foster parents to promote placement stability.
  • Assists the State Treatment Director in the development and implementation of staff training programs.
  • Participates in various monitoring/oversight activities including program audits.
  • Reports incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving children to the Program Director, Executive Director, and Treatment Director.
  • Reviews critical incidents and participates in staff debriefings.
  • Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others by exhibiting trauma informed care approach and knowledge, individual maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, cultural competency, and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Participates in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency and licensure.
  • Reviews documentation of assessment, treatment planning, and therapy interventions for compliance with trauma informed care best practices.
  • Ensures therapeutic needs of program clients are met.
  • Rotates on-call responsibilities for weekends and after-hours clinical interventions.
  • Provides coaching and corrective actions for clinical staff.
  • Provides therapeutic services directly to clients as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Human Services with the ability to provide mental health therapy.
  • Five or more years' experience working with families and children.
  • Must be provisionally or fully licensed; LPCA, LPCC, CSW, LCSW, LPA, LPP, LMFT, LMFTA.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of job skills and complete orientation and training classes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in trauma informed care practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards in therapeutic foster care.
