About the position

The University of Miami's Department of Information Technology is seeking a Full Time Clinical Systems Analyst 1 to join the UHealth team. This position is crucial for ensuring that the clinical computer information systems within the UHealth system operate efficiently and effectively. The Clinical Systems Analyst 1 - Central (H) will leverage their experience and knowledge to manage all aspects of clinical applications and systems development, including building and implementation processes. In this role, the analyst will analyze, define, and apply technical knowledge to resolve complex issues related to clinical application systems. Collaboration is key, as the analyst will work closely with team members, staff, and other personnel to understand the objectives and requirements for the assigned clinical system. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting problems within the clinical information systems, which may encompass software issues, hardware challenges, or networking difficulties. The analyst will provide basic support for designated clinical applications and assist in the design, development, and implementation of enhancements to existing systems. The Clinical Systems Analyst 1 will participate in pre-implementation tasks such as system design, testing, and training to gain a comprehensive understanding of technology-enabled workflows and application features. They will be responsible for collecting data from various sources to assist with implementations, optimizations, testing, and system upgrades. Daily application support will be provided, including completing service tickets and participating in an on-call rotation. The analyst will also assist with communication regarding new features, workflows, training system availability, and downtime procedures. Additionally, they will help end users with system-related issues, oversee the setup and maintenance of the dictionary database structure for clinical information systems, assist in meeting scheduling and preparation, and complete workflow documentation. Adherence to Service Level Agreements for incident management and compliance with UHealth IT standards, as well as university and unit-level policies, is essential. Responsibilities

  • Ensure clinical computer information systems are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Analyze, define, and apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems regarding clinical application systems.
  • Work closely with team members, staff, and other personnel to understand objectives and requirements for assigned clinical systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems within clinical information systems, including software, hardware, and networking issues.

  • Collect data from multiple sources to assist with implementations, optimizations, testing, and system upgrades.

  • Assist end users with system-related issues and oversee dictionary database structure setup and maintenance.
  • Assist in meeting scheduling and preparation.
  • Complete workflow documentation and adhere to Service Level Agreements for incident management.
  • Adhere to UHealth IT standards and university policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology.
  • Experience with major systems development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and control.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and provide solutions.
  • Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
