About the position

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking a dedicated Clinical Systems Analyst to join our team. This full-time position is integral to the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, specifically Epic, and related software programs. The Clinical Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clinical systems effectively meet organizational objectives and support our mission of providing expert care for mental health and substance use disorders. In this role, the Clinical Systems Analyst will oversee all activities related to specified clinical system applications, which include end-user support, system upgrades, access management, incident response, testing, documentation, design, and implementation. The position requires a proactive approach to uphold compliance with regulatory guidelines and to ensure that the systems are utilized to their fullest potential. The Clinical Systems Analyst will also be expected to demonstrate excellent customer service and to act as a positive role model within the team. Participation in committees, meetings, and in-service training is essential to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization. The Clinical Systems Analyst will be responsible for application support to functional and clinical areas, ensuring the reliability of applications. This includes owning incident/request tickets, participating in projects, and conducting integrated testing. The analyst will respond to incidents, diagnose issues, and execute resolutions while contributing to knowledge sharing across teams. Additionally, the role may require serving as tier-2 on-call support for Epic applications during off-hours. The analyst will also engage in the build and testing of new modules, upgrades, and fixes, ensuring that change management processes are respected and followed. The position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and the ability to communicate effectively with end users, peers, and project managers. The Clinical Systems Analyst will champion communication and awareness of application-specific engagement opportunities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Electronic Health Record system (Epic) and related software programs.
  • Oversee all activities for specified clinical system applications including end user support, upgrades, access, incident response, testing, documentation, design, and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Respond to incidents, perform diagnosis, and execute incident resolution for application-specific issues.
  • Serve as tier-2 on-call support for Epic applications in off-hours if required.
  • Initiate documentation of system processes and knowledge to maintain system integrity and sustainability.
  • Participate in the build and testing of functional impacts for new modules, upgrades, fixes, or new installations.
  • Track and communicate status of project assigned tasks frequently and clearly.
  • Provide guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team members within the Information Systems department.
  • Evaluate potential new functionality and/or application relevance to clinical workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, computer science, or information systems, or 3-5 years of work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current/active EpicCare Ambulatory certification is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in application development and project management.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical documentation.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products.
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems including Microsoft Office365 and Teams.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
