About the position

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking a Certified Epic Cadence and Prelude Analyst with 3-5 years of experience to join our team as a Clinical Systems Analyst. This role is pivotal in facilitating the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, specifically the Epic software and related applications. The Clinical Systems Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the EHR system meets organizational objectives and supports the delivery of high-quality mental health care. This position involves overseeing various activities related to clinical system applications, including end-user support, system upgrades, access management, incident response, testing, documentation, design, implementation, and training. The Clinical Systems Analyst will also ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and uphold the organization's standards for ethical business conduct. In this role, the Clinical Systems Analyst will act as a positive role model and team member, participating in committees, meetings, in-services, and other activities. The position requires excellent customer service skills and a passion for the mission of Pine Rest. The Clinical Systems Analyst will be responsible for application support to functional and clinical areas, ensuring the reliability of applications, managing incident/request tickets, and participating in project activities. This includes responding to incidents, diagnosing issues, and executing resolutions while contributing to knowledge sharing across teams. The analyst will also engage in the build and testing of new modules, upgrades, and installations, ensuring that all changes adhere to change management expectations. The Clinical Systems Analyst will provide guidance and training to other team members and engage in identifying optimization opportunities within the application build and workflows. Communication is key in this role, as the analyst will need to convey information clearly to end users, peers, project managers, and other stakeholders. The position also emphasizes the importance of upholding the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, and the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Clinical Systems Analyst will maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training, while also performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Electronic Health Record system (Epic) and related software programs.
  • Oversee all activities for specified clinical system applications including end user support, upgrades, access, incident response, testing, documentation, design, implementation, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and uphold the organization's standards for ethical business conduct.
  • Respond to incidents, perform diagnosis, and execute incident resolution for application-specific issues.
  • Serve as tier-2 on-call support for Epic applications in off-hours if required.
  • Initiate documentation of system processes and knowledge to maintain system integrity and sustainability.
  • Participate in the build and testing of functional impact for new modules, upgrades, fixes, or new installations.
  • Track and communicate status of project assigned tasks frequently and clearly.
  • Provide guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team members within the Information Systems department and across the organization.
  • Evaluate potential new functionality and/or application(s) relevance and productivity to clinical workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, computer science, or information systems, or 3-5 years of work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current/active Epic Cadence certification is required.
  • Clear understanding of medical terminology and medical documentation.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent specifications and recommendations in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems including Microsoft Office365 and Teams.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
