About the position

As a Clinical Systems Engineer specializing in Cybersecurity at Sodexo, you will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the clinical technology needs of our healthcare clients. This position is primarily located at PIH Health Whittier Hospital, a 523-bed facility that has been serving the community since 1959. Your expertise will directly impact patient care and safety, ensuring that the technology used in the hospital is reliable and effective. You will be responsible for overseeing the management of sensitive hardware and software that supports patient care delivery, ensuring high uptime and availability of these critical systems. In this role, you will leverage your strong analytical abilities to aggregate complex data sets, identify relevant trends, and summarize findings for executive-level presentations. You will also be tasked with translating data into actionable strategies, developing core components of robust plans with minimal direction, and adjusting these strategies based on data insights. Your understanding of clinical workflows will be essential as you assess the impact of changes on patient safety and care delivery, while also navigating the common challenges and risks present in a clinical environment. Your responsibilities will include engaging stakeholders in change management processes, monitoring progress, and identifying potential red flags. You will need to empathize with stakeholders and promote the positive outcomes of changes to ensure a smooth transition. Additionally, you will be involved in the daily management of technical components, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing responses to both planned and unplanned downtimes of key systems. This position requires a proactive approach to managing clinical technology and a commitment to improving the quality of life for all those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Manage clinical technology needs for healthcare clients.
  • Oversee the daily management of sensitive hardware and software used in patient care delivery.
  • Aggregate complex data sets and identify relevant trends for executive-level insights.
  • Translate data into actionable strategies and adjust based on findings.
  • Engage stakeholders in change management processes and monitor progress.
  • Identify impacts of changes on patient safety and care delivery.
  • Triage and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
  • Promote positive outcomes and benefits of changes to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in healthcare technology management or clinical systems engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to aggregate and interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience in software and server management, particularly in a clinical setting.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and patient safety protocols.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification in Clinical Engineering (CCE) or comparable HTM certification preferred.
  • Cybersecurity or IT certifications such as CISSP, HCISSP, CISM, or CISA preferred.
