About the position
The Clinical Tech (Non-RN) in the Critical Decision Unit is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff and physicians. This role is essential in supporting the clinical team during staffing shortages and requires flexibility in working across various clinical areas. The position is contingent and involves a temporary assignment with specific scheduling commitments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff and/or physicians.
- Assist in the clinical area of greatest need due to staffing shortages.
- Work every other weekend and holiday as required.
- Fulfill a schedule commitment of 56-112 days.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current nursing student who has completed at least two semesters.
- Completion of LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program.
- Certification in Phlebotomy.
- Previous Clinical Tech experience is preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize differences in care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
- Minimum of 1.5-2 years related work experience required.
