About the position
The Clinical Tech in the Surgical ICU at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff and physicians. This role is crucial in supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to patients in a critical care environment, particularly during night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff and/or physicians.
- Assist in the monitoring of patients' conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Support the nursing staff in various procedures and patient care activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care and treatment plans.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current nursing student who has minimally completed two semesters;
- Completion of LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program;
- Certification in Phlebotomy;
- Previous Clinical Tech experience;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Ability to recognize differences in care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups;
- Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
