About the position
The Clinical Technician position in the Neuro Stepdown Units at Cleveland Clinic involves providing essential patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. This role is crucial in supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to patients with neurological and medical-surgical conditions. The position requires working night shifts and offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a diverse and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
- Assist with patient transfers and transport.
- Perform pulse oximetry and point of care testing.
- Change dressings and apply external monitoring devices.
- Remove urinary Foley catheters.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patients' rooms.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) for nursing students.
- One year of recent, full-time patient care experience, or completion of at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program, or military experience in the medical field.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred, but must be obtained during the new hire period.
