The Clinical Triage Specialist (CTS) - RN position at St. Luke's University Health Network is a remote role focused on providing exceptional patient care and clinical support. The specialist will utilize nursing judgment to assess and triage patient calls, ensuring that patients receive the appropriate level of care and self-care advice. This role is essential in enhancing patient experience and coordinating clinical services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Answers telephones and prioritizes clinical triage calls according to clinical protocols.
- Verifies and updates patient demographic information in the electronic health record.
- Acts as an escalation point for clinical patient issues and provides clinical advice based on protocols.
- Manages escalated electronic patient messages and prioritizes patient needs.
- Creates a positive patient experience by resolving issues during the call.
- Meets productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards set by the Access Center.
- Utilizes resources to assess, prioritize, advise, and schedule appointments or referrals.
- Documents symptoms, nursing assessments, advice provided, and patient responses accurately.
- Partners with Access Center teams and clinical teams to assist with clinical concerns and scheduling.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Registered Nurse with current license to practice in Pennsylvania or seeking licensure through reciprocity required.
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in a physician office, home health, critical care, or emergency room required.
- OB/GYN experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
