About the position

The Clinical Trial Nurse I (CTN-I) is an entry-level position responsible for supporting clinical trials under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI) and clinical trials management. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols, coordinating research activities, and protecting the health and welfare of research participants. The CTN-I will assist in various aspects of clinical trial implementation, participant communication, and data management while adhering to Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with KPNC IRB approved protocols and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate research-related activities such as scheduling study visits and assisting with nursing assessments.
  • Perform nursing procedures required in the protocol and report protocol violations to the PI.
  • Assist in the enrollment of subjects into the trial and ensure continued eligibility for participation.
  • Participate in the informed consent process and communicate with participants throughout the study.
  • Accurately record information in source documents and assist in study completion and data management.
  • Support the regulatory team in maintaining critical documents for the trial.
  • Communicate with and educate research participants about study activities and requirements.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance professional skills.
  • Perform routine quality control activities and assist with quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting within the last three years.
  • Diploma from an accredited nursing school required; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Clinical Research Professional Certificate or Clinical Research Associate Certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Proficiency in electronic health systems and databases used in research.

Nice-to-haves
