About the position

The Behavioral Health (BH) Clinician-I is responsible for providing direct clinical care to children, adolescents, and their families, ensuring high-quality services in compliance with agency policies and performance specifications. The clinician will focus on best practices and evidence-based knowledge while addressing risk issues, documentation, and professionalism in clinical care. This role involves working in various settings, including outpatient services and residential care, and requires participation in emergency service coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide time-effective clinical services focused on restoring and enhancing clients' optimal functioning.
  • Develop clear treatment focuses, measurable outcomes, and discharge plans during the initial assessment and treatment planning process.
  • Maintain high-quality clinical care in accordance with best practices and agency standards.
  • Practice within ethical guidelines and maintain HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in 24-hour emergency service coverage for client caseload as required.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical practice, and compassionate regard for clients.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain documentation in the agency's Electronic Health Record system.
  • Respond to Quality Management and Utilization Review protocols and participate in clinical chart reviews.
  • Promote client-centered care that recognizes client voice and choice, and supports inclusion, equity, and diversity.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development of clinical skills through supervision and training.

Requirements

  • Developing proficiency in individual/youth and family clinical care.
  • Proof of a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Demonstrated competency in establishing therapeutic rapport with clients.
  • Proficiency in providing direct psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment and treatment planning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Active CANS certification.

  • Experience in trauma response and addiction counseling.
