About the position

Lincoln Families is seeking a dedicated Clinician for its Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) program, located in Contra Costa County. This position is integral to providing short-term intensive therapy to families and youth grappling with substance use and mental health challenges. The MDFT program is designed to support adolescents, parents, families, and communities through a variety of therapeutic and behavioral supports. The clinician will work closely with adolescents to enhance self-awareness, build communication skills, and reduce substance use. Additionally, the clinician will assist parents in regaining influence over their adolescents and coach families to improve problem-solving and foster connections. The role also involves improving access to community systems such as schools and probation to decrease barriers to treatment. The ideal candidate will be a positive, service-oriented team player who can work collaboratively with families in their homes. A strong awareness of cultural and socioeconomic diversity is essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment aligned with Lincoln's principles of care. The clinician will be expected to fulfill video recording and live supervision expectations of the MDFT model, participate in intensive training, and be willing to drive to clients' homes throughout Contra Costa County. Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to adolescents to improve self-awareness, confidence, and reduce substance use.
  • Assist parents in regaining influence over their adolescents.
  • Coach and model family problem-solving to enhance feelings of love and connection.
  • Improve access to community systems such as schools and probation to decrease barriers to treatment.
  • Participate in intensive MDFT model and certification process.
  • Fulfill video recording and live supervision expectations of MDFT.
  • Drive to clients' homes located throughout Contra Costa County.

Requirements

  • M.S.W or M.A/M.S. in relevant field from an accredited graduate school.
  • Current license or registered internship toward licensure.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in providing direct clinical services to adolescents.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in intensive MDFT model and certification process.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience providing family therapy and/or experience with substance abuse treatment is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to be trained in LCC therapeutic and relationship-building philosophy.
  • Physical fitness with the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and get back up.
  • Valid California driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and personal vehicle insurance coverage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience providing family therapy and/or experience with substance abuse treatment is preferred.
