About the position

The Clinician I position is designed to support clinical services to victims based on assessed needs in a victim-centered manner. The Clinician I will work with clients to help them overcome and manage various mental and emotional challenges. This role involves supporting the development of biopsychosocial and treatment plans for each client served by our VOCA, DCF, BBHC, and County Grant Contracts. The Clinician I will provide mental health and substance abuse counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families, using empirically evidenced-based protocols as appropriate. The position requires maintaining a caseload of approximately 25-30 clients and involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team to formulate individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a wide variety of clinical tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Health and Wellness and Director of Clinical Services.
  • Provide mental health and substance abuse counseling to children, adolescents, adults and/or families, using empirically evidenced based protocols as appropriate.
  • Provides individual, family, and group counseling sessions.
  • Completes required clinical documentation collaboratively with client or no later than 24 hours after the service has been provided.
  • Maintains ongoing chart audits to ensure compliance and quality assurance of services provided.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of DSM-5.
  • Serves as liaison for the client, family, referral source and other social services agencies.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all FLITE Center policies and procedures.
  • Presents in a professional manner in the community, in person, on the telephone and in verbal and written communication including times of extreme stress and when others are upset.
  • Supports the development and implementation of individual consents, biopsychosocial, treatment plans and notes for each client served and update as needed.
  • Completes discharge reports upon discharging each client.
  • Advocate for each client on their behalf when needed.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary Treatment team to formulate the individualized treatment plan to review the treatment plan, safety plans and assists in coordinating discharge plan with team.
  • Facilitates crisis intervention care as needed to support the immediate needs of clients.
  • Documents and reports to referral providers (as appropriate) in accordance with treatment goals.
  • Completes documentation as required by funding entities, courts, referral sources.
  • Participates in training and education activities as required by Director of Health and Wellness and FLITE Center.
  • Works cordially with others in a team setting.
  • Adheres to protocols and procedures as outlined by FLITE Center.
  • Provides feedback, including participation in surveys, interviews, reports, and other data collection mechanisms to help inform the agency about service gaps and outcomes of service provision in the designated area.
  • Ability to render compassionate care and an equal commitment to serve others in need of assistance.
  • Maintain Data and outcome reports for grants involved in.

Requirements

  • Master’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or a master’s degree with a concentration in one of the areas of Counseling such as: Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (registered intern in State of Florida status preferred).
  • Training on working with clients who have experienced complex trauma including sexual abuse and/or sexual exploitation.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and days and to be on call on a revolving basis 24/7/365.
  • Team player, flexible and non-judgmental.
  • Commitment to the experiences of vulnerable individuals and families.
  • Experience working with clients in foster care, human trafficking, LGBTQI+, homeless and disadvantaged populations.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft 365: outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint and SharePoint and etc.
  • Experience with technology and process and procedures.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.
