About the position

The Clinician at Serenity at Summit New England is a full-time role focused on providing quality treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders. This position involves working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver effective counseling and support to clients, ensuring their recovery and well-being. The Clinician will manage a primary caseload, facilitate therapeutic groups, and complete necessary clinical documentation in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Counsels clients individually to assist in overcoming dependencies.
• Completes clinical groups for clients.
• De-escalates AMA/ACA and other patient issues.
• Completes daily documentation, including biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM, progress notes, group notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
• Attends daily team meetings to enhance communication with interdisciplinary staff regarding program and client issues.
• Communicates with other staff as necessary to promote quality client care.
• Interacts appropriately with clients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree working towards LADC, LADCII or Master's degree in clinical mental health, social work, or related field.
• One year supervised counseling experience in substance abuse treatment.
• Knowledge of State guidelines and Joint Commission standards.
• Familiarity with 12 Step Recovery programs and additional recovery supports.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred certified/licensed substance abuse counselors (LCSW, LICSW, LCMH, LADC I, LADC II).
• Preferred experience in EMR/EHS system(s), Kipu.
