As a Senior Software Engineer, you have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs. In this role, you will develop containerized applications and DevOps utilities for a cutting-edge satellite ground system. You will work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment. This position offers the chance to learn modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques, as well as software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects. You will also gain exposure to satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop containerized applications and DevOps utilities for a satellite ground system.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.
  • Implement modern DevSecOps and CI/CD techniques.
  • Contribute to software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.
  • Work with satellite ground system technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Experience programming with Java and Groovy.
  • Experience building container images and helm charts from scratch and deploying to Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Linux and Git administration.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Expert-level Kubernetes debugging skills.
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Docker Certified Associate (DCA).
  • Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience working with a large-scale legacy software system.
  • Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
