About the position

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to provide hands-on technical expertise with repeatable offerings (RO's) within the Cloud and Data Center Practice Area at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA. As a Cloud Practice Area Sales Engineer, you'll be a critical bridge between technical expertise and business development. Your role will focus on promoting Leidos cloud solutions to federal clients, ensuring alignment with their needs and driving successful adoption of Leidos repeatable offerings. Duties may include developing innovative approaches and solutions, using non-quantitative tools and guidelines from prior work history. In this position, you will maintain a deep understanding of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You will also need to comprehend Leidos Cloud Repeatable Offerings and be able to articulate technical benefits, features, and use cases to potential clients. Staying informed about cloud trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies will be essential to effectively position Leidos capabilities and offerings. You will direct strategic initiatives to enhance the Leidos offerings portfolio, leveraging your deep technical knowledge and industry insights. Your responsibilities will also include client engagement, where you will work with Leidos business development and account management to identify customer requirements and propose tailored solutions and offerings. Conducting technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops for government customers will be part of your role, as well as developing and maintaining high-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to drive strategic opportunities and long-term partnerships. You will provide consulting and thought leadership to influence client decision-making and drive project success. In terms of solution architecture, you will partner with Leidos capture teams, solutions architects, and engineers to design cloud solutions that meet customer requirements and tailor repeatable offerings accordingly. You will develop and implement innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges impacting multiple sectors, using creative problem-solving and advanced technical expertise. Additionally, you will advocate best practices and guide efforts to continuously improve and evolve Leidos's cloud offerings based on market trends and client feedback. Collaboration with practice area team members, client stakeholders, and external partners will be crucial to ensure effective communication and project alignment. You will influence practice area and sector principals on solution design and process improvements, advocating for strategic approaches and best practices, and directing cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure the successful delivery of complex, multi-dimensional projects.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 15+ years in software development or software engineering roles.
  • Robust background in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions in cloud and data center environments.
  • Extensive experience in Cloud Technologies and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying scalable applications in cloud environments using established and cutting-edge programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Legacy programming languages is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges in cloud and data center architectures.
  • Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of directing teams in the implementation of cloud and data center solutions.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in dynamic environments.
