About the position

As a Product Manager in Engineer's Platform & Integrated Experience (EPiX) at JPMorgan Chase & Co., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of product innovation. Your primary responsibility will be to drive value for customers by guiding the successful launch of new product offerings and ensuring that they resonate with clients. You will act as the voice of the customer, utilizing your deep understanding of product development to create profitable products that deliver significant customer value. Your commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability will be essential as you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. In this role, you will develop a comprehensive product strategy and vision that aligns with customer needs. You will manage discovery efforts and conduct market research to uncover customer solutions, integrating these insights into the product roadmap. You will own and maintain a product backlog that supports the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition, ensuring that development efforts are aligned with business objectives. You will also be responsible for establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure developer productivity and application health, such as deployment frequency and mean time to recovery (MTTR). By evaluating and implementing tools and platforms that enhance development efficiency, you will promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Regular communication of progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders will be crucial to ensure transparency and alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
  • Identifies and addresses pain points in the developer workflow to streamline processes and improve overall satisfaction
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure developer productivity, such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, and mean time to recovery (MTTR)
  • Evaluates and implements tools and platforms that enhance development efficiency, such as integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes, gathering feedback from developers, and implementing best practices
  • Communicates progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives on a regular basis

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, tools, and technologies, often demonstrated by a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to developer productivity and application health
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify pain points in the developer experience and devise effective solutions
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
  • Several years of experience in product management, particularly in roles that involve working closely with engineering teams and focusing on developer tools and platforms
  • Knowledge of cloud services and platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure, and how they can be leveraged to improve developer workflows
