About the position

The Cloud and Hosting Director is responsible for managing and leading global multidisciplinary teams ranging from 500 to 2000 members across various projects and customer engagements. This role oversees the strategy and operations of cloud technology, primarily focusing on AWS, and is tasked with cloud transformation projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant service delivery. The director will also manage budgets, select and develop team members, and lead technology hosting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Directly and indirectly manage global multidisciplinary teams for multiple projects and engagements.
  • Oversee strategy and operations of cloud technology, primarily AWS, including servers, storage, backup, and networking.
  • Manage cloud transformation projects from internal datacenters to public cloud.
  • Develop and maintain communications with customers, management, and staff to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Prepare, recommend, and oversee development of operating and personnel budgets and customer pricing models.
  • Monitor spending for adherence to budget plans and manage variances, performing budget analysis.
  • Select and hire managers, team leads, and team members; coach and develop team members to enhance performance.
  • Lead other technology hosting business and technical initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of information technology or computer operations experience.
  • 5+ years in large environments with more than 1000 servers with Public Cloud Administration (AWS Preferred).
  • 8+ years with Systems Administration and Storage (Windows, Linux, SANs, NAS) for 2000 servers.
  • 5+ years with Networking and Directories (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, LDAP).
  • Solid experience managing managers and team leads.
  • 5+ years with monitoring tools.
  • 5+ years of software development, SDLC, and DevOps experience.
  • 5+ years with databases (SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong leadership skills to oversee multiple projects, operations, and accounts.
  • Strong human relations skills to select, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously oversee many projects and commitments.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new systems, architectures, environments, and projects with limited guidance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks.
  • Proven direct experience with transformation projects.
