About the position

The Cloud and Security Engineer at Princeton University will work within a small cross-functional team to develop, deploy, and enhance data-intensive applications and processes. This role focuses on building shared infrastructure to support policy-relevant research, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement solutions using Tensorflow/Bicep for machine learning tasks.
• Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Deploy and manage PyTorch/TensorFlow workloads on CPU and GPU targets.
• Operate within environments compliant with PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27000, or equivalent regulations.
• Ensure internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
• Implement observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.
• Deploy threat detection and mitigation techniques across the environment to ensure data security.
• Work with external auditors to ensure security compliance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Terraform/Bicep
• Experience with GitHub Actions
• Experience with Azure cloud services
• Ability to implement observability solutions for application monitoring and alerting.
• Well-developed understanding and application of data security best practices and compliance standards.
• Understanding of compliance requirements, such as PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27000, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A combination of relevant work experience and education that would equal 1-3 years of relevant work experience with a record of accomplishment.
• Bachelors or equivalent experience.
