About the position

The Cloud Application Developer position involves application development and maintenance within a cloud environment, focusing on programming, configuration, and engineering support for hardware devices and software licenses. The role requires on-site presence in Northern Virginia and emphasizes optimal usage of cloud resources while ensuring compliance with security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and validate new requirements from course instructors for stand-alone tablets used for training courses.
  • Track hardware devices and software licenses to prevent end-of-life status.
  • Create and update baseline images for tablets, including anti-virus and operating system updates.
  • Reset tablets to factory settings and re-image for subsequent training courses.
  • Establish a check-in and check-out process for tracking hardware devices.
  • Design, code, and provide operations and maintenance support for application instances in the cloud environment.
  • Monitor and configure storage using S3 for efficient cloud operations.
  • Monitor and configure databases using MongoDB for optimal performance.
  • Monitor and configure application load balancing in the cloud environment.
  • Maintain accreditation for all current and future applications.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and standard operating procedures in the cloud environment.
  • Keep machine images for servers up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated experience with Node.js.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML and CSS.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and integrating with RESTful Web APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience with MongoDB for creating, querying, updating, and deleting objects and collections.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Linux environment, including the Linux terminal.
  • Demonstrated experience with creating and updating images for tablets and re-baselining them before reuse.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph required.
