About the position

The Cloud Architect & Engineer (Azure) will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, and providing hands-on support for scalable, high-performance cloud assets in Azure. This role involves planning and delivering legacy infrastructure transformation and migration to cloud technologies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology roadmaps. The position requires a strong focus on security, compliance, and optimization of cloud services to drive cost-effective business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a cloud roadmap and approved cloud solutions aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  • Define and oversee the architecture of cloud solutions, ensuring they meet scalability, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud services, configurations, and costs to maximize efficiency and ROI.
  • Implement and oversee security best practices, access controls, and compliance measures within the cloud environment.
  • Manage cloud resources using infrastructure as code and automation tools.
  • Deploy and manage cloud resources using infrastructure as code and automation tools.
  • Manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service or similar platforms.
  • Configure cloud Virtual Networks, Subnets, Security Groups, and Network Security Groups.
  • Set up and manage Azure Monitor/Insight, Log Analytics.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of Azure architectures, configurations, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Azure engineers and other team members.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of work experience supporting a medium to large Microsoft Azure enterprise within an Infrastructure department.
  • Proficiency in Azure networking concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management in Azure.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing applications.
  • Understanding of Azure security features, encryption methods, and compliance standards.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer are a plus.
  • Profound communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Amazon product knowledge, management and support.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including AWS LightSail, AWS App Runner, PostgreSQL, AWS Lambda, AWS CloudWatch, etc.
  • Vendor management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management.
