About the position

The Cloud Architect position in Frisco, TX, is a contract role focused on designing and managing large-scale Kubernetes platforms. The role requires deep expertise in cloud concepts and services, particularly in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, along with hands-on experience in Kubernetes management and automation. The ideal candidate will work both independently and collaboratively within a new team dedicated to Kubernetes automation using Crossplane.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale the Kubernetes platform.
• Operate control planes for large-scale Kubernetes environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) automation and cloud infrastructure provisioning at scale.
• Ensure security concepts are integrated, including zero-trust design principles.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and resiliency concepts in cloud environments.
• Utilize DevOps and GitOps methodologies for solution delivery.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
• 7 years of experience with Kubernetes at scale.
• 7 years of experience with cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• 5 years of experience with Python programming.
• Experience with Golang programming is preferred.
• Knowledge of security concepts and SRE principles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Cross-Plane is a plus.
• Platform-level Kubernetes experience is preferred.
