About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect with over 10 years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Data Architect, particularly in cloud environments, and will be responsible for utilizing GCP-based data platform architecture to meet enterprise data strategic goals. The role requires excellent knowledge of Google Cloud Platform capabilities to drive transformation and solution delivery, as well as the ability to define methodologies for integrating data from various sources.

Responsibilities

• Extensive, demonstrable experience as a Data Architect with a track record of working with data lake and data warehouse environments specifically in the cloud
• Utilize GCP-based data platform architecture to meet enterprise data strategic goals
• Excellent knowledge of Google Cloud Platform capabilities for driving transformation and solution delivery
• Define the methodology used to integrate data from various internal and external sources
• Support data analytics and business intelligence efforts by ensuring data accessibility and reliability through business intelligence tools
• Overseeing DevSecOps processes, establishing principles, and implementing robust methodologies across teams or entire programs
• Expert knowledge of modern data stack in particular Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Google BigQuery (GBQ), Airflow and DBT or similar technologies for designing data ingestion/reporting, transformations, optimisations and middleware interoperability
• Demonstrated ability to assess needs of the relevant internal teams, creatively approach solutions, decide, and influence appropriate courses of action
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to-understand business terms

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with Serverless technologies such as Cloud Run and Cloud Functions
• Proficiency in Compute services like Kubernetes Engine and Compute Engine
• Knowledge of Networking and Security including VPC networks, Service Perimeters, IAM, PAM, and VPC Service Controls
• Experience with Data and Analytics tools such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Firestore, Dataproc, Dataflow, Data Fusion, and Cloud Composer
• Familiarity with API Management tools like Apigee and Cloud Endpoints
• Understanding of Security Controls, particularly Security Command Centre
