About the position

The Cloud Architect at Midwest Tape is responsible for overseeing the company's cloud computing infrastructure and platforms. This role involves ensuring secure integration with public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, maintaining cloud infrastructure, and utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to meet company goals. The position requires a strong understanding of AWS and involves daily activities such as managing security, researching and architecting solutions, and providing support for cloud access security.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement solutions on the AWS cloud platform.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to create and maintain AWS infrastructure.
• Maintain GitHub repositories for AWS infrastructure foundation.
• Manage AWS Organization, Control Tower, and Control Library.
• Monitor and improve infrastructure performance, availability, and utilization.
• Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of AWS services.
• Setup and support AWS networks and security endpoints.
• Troubleshoot network problems and secure networks with monitoring and control policies.
• Provide higher tier support for help desk team members.
• Create and maintain AWS documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure areas.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and security best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS Security, Identity & Compliance services.
• Familiarity with network design and implementation.
• Knowledge of protocols and services including IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
