About the position

The Cloud Architect position at Creative Information Technology Inc (CITI) involves supporting the operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the IRAP platform. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the platform's security, performance, and cost-effectiveness while collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance its capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the IRAP Platform by identifying, analyzing, and resolving emergent vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Perform required version upgrades to the tool stack used by the platform.
  • Conduct monthly maintenance activities such as upgrading servers to the latest version of Gold AMI and performing patches.
  • Perform security monitoring to maintain the Authority to Operate (ATO) of the IRAP platform.
  • Update the ATO of IRAP to host restricted datasets as required.
  • Enhance capabilities of IRAP in collaboration with Board Data Architects, Cloud Administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the IRAP platform is in sync with the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform code in the code repository.
  • Monitor cloud resource consumption and alert leadership if usage exceeds set limits.
  • Identify opportunities for cloud cost savings and ensure optimized use of AWS resources within IRAP.
  • Identify and manage external dependencies for platform enhancement efforts to ensure timely delivery of enhancements.
  • Develop cloud infrastructure using Terraform and deploy infrastructure to production after successful testing.
  • Perform user administration activities including onboarding and provisioning new users, and addressing user inquiries.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience designing, building, and maintaining Cloud infrastructure in AWS.
  • 7 years' experience performing system administration activities including patching, upgrading, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers.
  • 3 years' experience building AWS Infrastructure using Terraform.
  • 5 years' experience using Agile software development methodologies.
  • 3 years' experience building CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps or Gitlab.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders of varying technology acumen.
  • Knowledge of FISMA security review and ATO process.
  • Experience in understanding large complex software systems to isolate defects and assess risk.
