About the position

The Cloud AWS Engineer will be responsible for planning, engineering, and implementing an organization's systems infrastructure, specifically focusing on cloud application services within a managed service environment. This role involves collaborating with various teams to identify technical needs, delivering new capabilities, and ensuring high performance in customer satisfaction and teamwork. The position requires extensive experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and the ability to lead and direct the work of others while participating in IT strategy development.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with architects, developers, and technical support teams to achieve success in deployment of Cloud application services.
  • Work with business partners and architects to identify technical and functional needs of systems.
  • Collaborate with performing teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications and remediate issues.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes.
  • Translate business, information, and technical requirements to create integration patterns across applications and systems.
  • Assess foundational services, integration services, and cloud operations capabilities.
  • Champion and communicate approaches with business leaders and teams to develop structured outcomes.
  • Establish direction for application development approaches, including tools and frameworks.
  • Support preparation of documentation including application designs and implementation plans.
  • Lead by example in customer satisfaction, collaboration, and reliability.
  • Participate in establishing local standards for cloud integration and influence broader organizational standards.
  • Spearhead innovative technology use and best practices for product development initiatives.
  • Participate in IT strategy development, including environmental analysis and business innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related area.
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Understanding of technology vision and strategic direction of business needs.
  • Ability to develop product roadmaps in alignment with business objectives.
  • Experience in designing integrated solutions in alignment with design patterns and best practices.
  • Participation in defining technical requirements for enabling data analytics in AWS.
  • Experience in developing architecture and design conceptual solutions using cloud-native and third-party products.
  • Ability to analyze current and future states for IT data platform strategy.
  • Experience in researching and performing proofs of concept with emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience in scripting for data integration and automation services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Terraform, Python, and OS shell scripts for automation.
  • Knowledge of data mesh concepts and democratizing data.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
