About the position

The Cloud Big Data Developer - Officer role at State Street is an exciting opportunity for engineers to work within a highly visible compliance technology group. The position focuses on developing technical solutions for the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program using advanced technologies such as Databricks, Spark, and Scala. The developer will collaborate closely with technical and business teams in an agile environment, taking ownership of the application development process from inception to production rollout.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications using Scala, Spark, Python, and other programming languages.
• Lead vendor product implementation and customization efforts.
• Take ownership of the application development process from development to production rollout.
• Collaborate in a multi-location agile environment with business and technology teams.
• Adhere to application development, data engineering, performance, and security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with application development using Spark, Scala, or Python.
• Experience in developing enterprise data-driven applications, ETL, and data orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with advanced Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Hive, SQL, and NoSQL.
• Familiarity with public cloud technologies such as AWS and Databricks is a plus.
• Moderate experience with Unix and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, CI/CD, GitHub, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Understanding of finance, custody services, data privacy, AML, and related compliance domains is a plus.
