About the position

SAIC is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud One Migration Team, focusing on application analysis, automation, and administration. This role involves developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) for large systems, with the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in the United States. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud engineering and DevSecOps practices, contributing to the design and implementation of cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) for large systems.
• Implement and integrate DevSecOps tool chains for cloud environments.
• Design, deploy, operate, and sustain Kubernetes solutions.
• Utilize project management tools such as Atlassian Tools, GitLab, and GitHub.
• Monitor cloud environments using tools like AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
• Manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions.
• Administer DevSecOps pipelines and ensure operational sustainment.
• Collaborate with customers and participate in project planning and design.
• Prepare technical documentation including design specifications and asset inventories.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship with a Secret clearance.
• Minimum of nine years of experience with an IT-related Bachelor's Degree or seven years with a Master's Degree.
• At least three years of experience with advanced vendor certification in a cloud product.
• Three years of experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working for a Managed Service Provider or IT company.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
• Experience supporting USAF or USA cloud or software development projects.
