About the position

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Computing Cyber Engineer to join the Cloud One Digital Engineering Team. This team is pivotal in the architecture, engineering, and sustainment of the Air Force Cloud Digital Engineering platform, which is currently deployed on AWS and Azure Cloud. The Cloud One Digital Engineering program operates under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI) and is designed to support the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and other Government Customers by facilitating the migration of applications to a cloud environment. This initiative is part of the broader Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI), aimed at closing data centers and enhancing operational efficiencies across the USAF's spectrum of operations. The role requires candidates to work in a hybrid capacity, necessitating a portion of time spent onsite in a SIPRnet facility. Candidates must reside near designated locations such as Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA, Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL, Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, or Charleston, SC. The position demands a strong background in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and engineering, with a focus on ensuring the integrity and security of cloud-based systems and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, engineer, and sustain the Air Force Cloud Digital Engineering platform on AWS and Azure.
  • Support the Cloud One Digital Engineering program under AFLCMC/HNI.
  • Facilitate the migration of applications to a cloud environment to support DCOI.
  • Prepare and interpret technical documentation related to cloud systems.
  • Remediate IAVA vulnerabilities and prepare SAR reports.
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
  • Identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.
  • Mentor junior team members in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of experience; Master's degree with three (3) years of experience; or PhD with no related experience.
  • Active Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • Security + or equivalent certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS and Azure Clouds, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with DevSecOps tool chains.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation.
  • Proven experience remediating IAVA vulnerabilities and preparing SAR reports.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
  • Experience proactively identifying and resolving operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.
  • Experience preparing and interpreting ACAS and SCAP for vulnerability scanning.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS or Azure Cloud Certification with experience as a Cloud Engineer.
  • Experience with zero trust architectures.
  • Familiarity with AF Cloud One or Platform 1 development, engineering, operations, and sustainment.
  • Experience installing digital engineering tools including Cameo, SPARX, MathWorks, and AFSIM.
  • In-depth understanding of AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Azure AD, F5, Barracuda.
  • Experience installing and supporting vendor digital engineering / MBSE tools such as NoMagic Cameo, IBM DOORS, Sparx, MathWorks MATLAB, Dassault 3DS.
