About the position

The Cloud Consultant II, Networking role at Google Cloud involves guiding customers through their cloud journey, focusing on networking projects that transform businesses. This position requires providing consulting, program management, and technical expertise while collaborating with client executives and technical leaders to deploy solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. The consultant will also work with Google partners to deliver joint consulting services, ensuring best practices in networking are followed.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer technical leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful implementations of cloud solutions.
• Propose solution architectures and manage the deployment of cloud networking solutions according to customer requirements and implementation best practices.
• Collaborate with internal specialists, product, and engineering teams to package approaches, best practices, and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies, and published assets.
• Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.
• Travel approximately 30% of the time for client engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience in networking, compute infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Google Cloud.
• Experience with one or more third-party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
• Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Customer-facing migration experience, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
