About the position

The Cloud Data Engineer role focuses on leveraging AWS technologies to manage and process large datasets. The position involves working with cloud-based big data storage and processing tools, ensuring efficient ETL/ELT operations, and collaborating with agile development teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. The role is remote and requires strong technical skills in AWS services, data modeling, and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain AWS-based applications.
  • Implement data models at the physical level, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
  • Analyze requirements and propose solutions in an AWS environment.
  • Collaborate with onsite teams to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
  • Facilitate discussions and manage expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Work with both SQL and NoSQL data structures and file types.
  • Utilize tools such as S3, AWS Glue, and Apache Spark for data processing and storage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-based big data storage and processing.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL data structures.
  • 3+ years of software development experience in an agile environment.
  • Experience with data modeling at conceptual and logical levels.
  • Proficiency in Oracle and PL/SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and AWS Glue.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Informatica and AWS Integration.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies or iterative development processes.
