About the position

The Cloud Database Engineer role involves providing services and support to the mission by designing, planning, and executing data exploitation workflows within the Intelligence Community's space systems and satellite positioning. The position requires expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud storage solutions, to enhance data accessibility in a multi-cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute data exploitation workflows for the Intelligence Community's space systems.
• Collaborate with Cloud System Administrator and Database Engineer to implement best practices in cloud data storage.
• Optimize data accessibility in a multi-cloud environment.
• Maintain and optimize relational databases solutions such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Design, deploy, and maintain NoSQL solutions with MongoDB.
• Implement cloud data storage solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, or a total of 9 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• DoD 8140.01 IAT Certification Level II or higher (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing relational databases solutions.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions, particularly MongoDB.
• Competence with AWS infrastructure-as-code solutions (Cloud Formation and/or Cloud Development Kit).
• Development skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

• AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty or equivalent certification.
