About the position

As a Cloud Data Engineer at Navistar, you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing cutting-edge cloud computing systems that are integral to the company's mission of redefining transportation. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and deploying cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform, ensuring that the systems are scalable, secure, and highly available. You will implement and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, which includes pipelines, data stores, and data lakes. Your expertise will be crucial in configuring and managing Azure services, monitoring and troubleshooting the infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance, and automating deployment and configuration using tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Additionally, you will develop and implement security controls to protect the cloud infrastructure and data, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new cloud-based solutions that align with Navistar's vision for the future of mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform.
  • Build and manage scalable, secure, and highly available Azure environments.
  • Implement and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, including pipelines, data stores, data lakes, etc.
  • Configure and manage Azure services.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Automate deployment and configuration using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Develop and implement security controls to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of Information Technology or IT Architecture experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience, or at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of lead experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud data engineering experience.
  • Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Associate, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services and their use cases.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java or Go.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, security controls, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and skills as needed.
