About the position

The Cloud Data Engineering Manager at Deloitte is responsible for leading and managing complex technology engagements, particularly in the oil and gas industry. This role involves advising clients on best practices in data and analytics, overseeing solution design and implementation, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. The manager will also mentor staff, contribute to business development, and maintain strong client relationships while leveraging advanced technologies and data architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on leading practices and technology/industry trends.
  • Build lasting relationships through day-to-day interactions with key client managers and staff.
  • Deliver solutions that align with clients' business strategies.
  • Present technical alternatives and recommendations to clients.
  • Manage technical and functional teams to design, build, test, and implement enterprise applications.
  • Anticipate and resolve project risks and issues.
  • Monitor project progress and quality, tracking and reporting status.
  • Participate in sales pursuits and present proposals to clients.
  • Mentor and coach team members to help them achieve their career objectives.
  • Participate in recruiting and onboarding activities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant analytics technology consulting or industry experience.
  • 2+ years experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • 1+ years experience leading and managing complex technology engagements.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of emerging technologies such as Generative AI.
  • Experience with Azure, GCP, and/or AWS tools and services.
  • Ability to recommend Data Management processes and governance models.
  • Experience collaborating among team members across several geographies.
  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization.
