About the position

Leidos is seeking a Cloud Data Integration and Interoperability Engineer (DevOps Engineer) to support its Health & Civil Sector initiatives. This role is crucial for the Sector CTO's Innovation Lab, focusing on cloud and data modernization efforts across various government departments. The engineer will be responsible for DevSecOps toolsets and activities, contributing to the implementation, deployment, and sustainment of innovative cloud infrastructure and data analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide build and operations engineering support for digital health application infrastructure environments in AWS Cloud and other cloud service providers.
  • Test, plan, and deploy COTS, OS, and infrastructure updates and patches to project environments.
  • Administer IdAM solutions supporting team access.
  • Configure and maintain user accounts and network access to the SecDevOps environment.
  • Support resolution of operational issues and troubleshoot tickets from the user community.
  • Schedule and execute pipeline build and deployment activities within project cloud computing environments.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and COTS vendor engineering to resolve build and operational tickets.
  • Contribute to the design and use of Infrastructure as Code for large scale infrastructure implementations.
  • Assist in the introduction of new capabilities and troubleshooting of existing capabilities.
  • Integrate commercial products with semi-custom developed solutions to meet functional requirements.
  • Communicate with Product Team Owners, application development, integration teams, and application security teams.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on fulltime Cloud experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • At least 1 AWS certification.
  • 4+ years AWS configuration and operations experience (EC2, Lambda, EKS, ECS, S3, etc.).
  • Large enterprise AWS Kubernetes (EKS or ECS) implementation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes command line (kubectl).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) design, deployment, migration, and sustainment experience (Terraform, Ansible, GitLab pipeline automation).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with REST APIs and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Linux Systems Administration experience.
  • Windows Server (2016, 2019) Administration experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of hands-on, full-time AWS cloud experience.
  • Implementation experience with Docker and other container orchestration.
  • Significant Python experience.
  • Scripting experience in BASH/shell, Python, or Golang (Go).
  • Experience with Mulesoft (AnyPoint, DataWeave).
  • Experience with InterSystems, FHIR/HL7, and HashiCorp applications (Packer, Terraform, Consul, Vault).
  • Experience with Oracle Cerner, Epic, or other electronic health record systems.
  • Experience in large scale infrastructure implementation and sustainment.
