The Cloud Database Administrator position is a direct hire opportunity based in Columbus, Ohio, focusing on enhancing the skills of a growing and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL database administration, particularly in high availability (HA) environments, and will be expected to contribute to the team's growth and success. The company is looking for someone who is not only experienced in production and support duties but also has a desire to engage in systems development. The SQL DBA team is expanding to meet the increasing demands for innovative data services, and candidates with HA experience will be prioritized. The role involves working with SQL Server versions 2008R2, 2012, 2014, and 2016, focusing on HA maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations. Performance tuning is a critical aspect of this position, along with database design and architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing, editing, and optimizing moderately complex SQL procedures, and must possess solid clustering experience. Additionally, the role may require performing other IT operational duties as needed, making it essential for candidates to be adaptable and willing to take on various responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and install SQL Server 2008R2 and 2012/2014/2016 in a High Availability (HA) environment.
  • Design and architect databases to meet business needs.
  • Perform performance tuning on SQL databases to ensure optimal operation.
  • Write, edit, and optimize moderately complex SQL procedures.
  • Utilize solid clustering experience to manage database environments.
  • Perform other IT operational duties as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL Server administration.
  • Experience with AWS and Snowflake is required.
  • Lead or senior-level experience in SQL database efforts is preferred.
  • Experience in successfully leading SQL database projects.
  • Upgrade experience with SQL Server is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SSIS and SSRS is nice to have but not required.
