As a Cloud Database Administrator (Sybase), you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting database systems that are integral to the data masking process and the creation of non-production copies of databases for application development teams. This position requires a senior-level DBA with extensive experience in RDS/Aurora Sybase and other database management systems (DBMS). You will be part of a dedicated data masking team, where you will apply established practices and automation techniques to database instances to ensure the effective obscuring of production data. Your troubleshooting skills will be essential in resolving issues related to the masking process or the database itself, ensuring that the systems run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will leverage your recent and deep administration experience with Sybase DBMS, along with your knowledge of AWS basics and various database technologies. You will also be expected to possess basic scripting knowledge and a foundational understanding of other infrastructure technologies, such as Unix server administration, storage, or data networking. Your ability to develop standard operating plans and procedures will be vital, as you will also coach others in their implementation. You will utilize database tools and monitors to maintain system performance and reliability, while also applying service management principles (ITIL) to enhance operational efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, as you will collaborate effectively with your immediate team, other information systems areas, and clients across different departments. Clear communication of issues and solutions at all organizational levels will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be expected to work within agile delivery frameworks, such as SCRUM, SAFe, XP, and Kanban, and you should have a strong sense of urgency to deliver on commitments. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you navigate challenges, and your experience working in a scrum team using agile methodologies and tools like Jira will be beneficial.
