About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Application and Cloud Transformation team. This role focuses on building and enabling cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, developing cloud services, and establishing best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions. The engineer will collaborate with product teams and technical experts to deliver innovative cloud-centric solutions while addressing complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contributor in building and enabling the cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Work closely with the product team to develop and deploy cloud services that meet customer expectations.
  • Contribute to developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions.
  • Design, optimize, and document the engineering aspects of the cloud platform.
  • Review and analyze technology solutions in the cloud for strategic business objectives and technical challenges.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead technology cloud initiatives with broad companywide impact.
  • Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust cloud-centric solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 4+ years designing, building, and automating solutions utilizing Azure Database services.
  • 2+ years of experience with enabling cloud-hosted database services.
  • 2+ years of hands-on exposure to cloud automation tools such as Terraform and GitHub.
  • 2+ years of design and implementation experience on Azure with exposure to defining/implementing strategy and roadmap for cloud adoption.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate level cloud certification on Azure with a specialty in Database.
  • Experience refining functional and non-functional requirements with stakeholders to create fault-tolerant and resilient database solutions in Azure.
  • Practical experience with cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings.
  • Experience implementing risk and control requirements for cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficient in managed and unmanaged database services, with experience in large-scale database infrastructure build-out and provisioning in Azure using IaC (Terraform).
  • Expertise in planning, modeling, design, implementation, support, and performance optimization for Database as a Service.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud service database offerings such as SQL MI/DB, Azure SQL, Postgres Flex Server, Azure Redis Cache.
  • Ability to engage effectively with partners in a multi-cultural environment.
