About the position

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer at SYSTOLIC, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining AWS services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms and configuration management tools. Your expertise in containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes will be essential as you drive new deployments and independently resolve issues that arise in the cloud environment. You will also be responsible for implementing CI/CD pipelines and utilizing automation tools like Jenkins and GitHub to streamline development processes. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will provide systems and network administration support, which includes managing Linux systems, performing patching, optimization, and monitoring of networks and servers. Your role will require light scripting skills in Python and Linux shell scripting to automate tasks and improve efficiency. You will be expected to triage and resolve issues related to open-source tools in public cloud environments, particularly within AWS. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain AWS services with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms and configuration management tools.
  • Work with containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement CI/CD and automation tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Provide systems and network administration support, including Linux support, patching, optimization, and monitoring.
  • Perform light scripting with Python and Linux shell script.
  • Triage and resolve issues related to open-source tools in public cloud environments, especially AWS.

Requirements

  • 16+ years of experience supporting software engineering, software operations, or DevOps roles in a professional environment (12+ years with a BS degree, 10+ years with an MS degree).
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Counter Intelligence Polygraph security clearance.
  • Experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Strong systems and network administration skills, particularly with Linux.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional scripting languages beyond Python and Linux shell.
  • Familiarity with other cloud service providers beyond AWS.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
