About the position

Enpro is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their Cloud Services Team in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on leading cloud transformation initiatives, optimizing hybrid cloud services, and establishing a DevOps culture within the IT organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical experience in building and optimizing cloud services, collaborating with IT staff, and ensuring timely delivery of cloud-enablement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture design and implementation efforts for AWS cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Advance AWS cost optimization projects with automated monitoring and management of resources.
  • Identify opportunities to decouple cloud-deployed services for increased resiliency and performance.
  • Develop serverless solutions using cloud-native services like APIs and Lambda.
  • Support line of business cloud optimization efforts and promote the value of cloud solutions.
  • Collaborate with external IT teams to migrate legacy applications to AWS.
  • Produce reusable, efficient, and scalable solutions with cost-effective migration strategies.
  • Support the development and maturation of Enpro's hybrid cloud strategy.
  • Build custom cloud migration strategies for newly acquired companies.
  • Draft corporate policies and standards for cloud best practices and application deployment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in planning, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms, preferably Terraform.
  • Development experience in modern programming languages.
  • Understanding of core AWS services and architecture best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in database architecture, business intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in distributed systems.
  • Ability to work on tight timelines and long hours when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Industry certifications (AWS, Microsoft, Hashicorp, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Agile or scrum experience.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance requirements such as PCI, GDPR, DFARS.
