About the position

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer at Progyny, you will enhance and maintain the cloud infrastructure to support the CI/CD process for the Engineering team. This role involves collaboration with a cross-functional team to enable rapid development, configuration management, and support for testing, deployment, and production activities.

Responsibilities

  • Own, extend, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Work alongside SREs and system architects to design, test, launch, and operate cloud-based serverless and container-based workloads.
  • Extend the existing system for new applications as needed.
  • Ensure the infrastructure is secure, recoverable, and regularly maintained, including security patches and tool upgrades.
  • Structure the infrastructure in a cost-effective manner.
  • Approach infrastructure architecture with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Monitor incidents, prioritize them, report and document incidents, and run routine incident response exercises.
  • Debug and develop code in either Python or Bash.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of DevOps Experience
  • 2+ years of Python or Bash
  • Strong knowledge of Docker and Terraform
  • Experience with systems such as Datadog, GitHub, or Flosum
  • First-hand experience with configuration management and orchestration tools such as CloudFormation or HCL, Terraform, CDKs, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based Git hosting providers (e.g. GitHub)
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL Databases and big data platforms
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple teams
  • Prior experience with security tools (nice to have)
  • Demonstrable background in building and scaling Cloud infrastructure
  • Detailed understanding of CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline Suite.
