About The Position

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer at GDIT, you will deliver innovative solutions to complex problems, focusing on the unique requirements of clients. Your role will involve automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services while ensuring system security and reliability. You will support USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC, and contribute to enhancing user experiences through application development and system engineering activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT and/or software experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred).
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Participated in or led agile development teams.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity.
  • Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T.
  • Experience with networking technologies (e.g., load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN).
  • Experienced in using Git.
  • Experience in release management.
  • Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Excellent communication and briefing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and OpenStack.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools like Chef, Ansible, BOSH.
  • Experience with platform as a service products such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk.
  • Experience working with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory.
  • Understanding of systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics tools.
  • Background in Windows deployment and automation technologies.
  • Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and messaging middleware technologies.

  • Automate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
  • Manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency.
  • Guide and manage software releases for new features.
  • Perform administrative operations of server hardware and software.
  • Ensure system security and execute practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot system-related problems.
  • Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments.
  • Recommend future direction or projects to management.
  • Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications.
