About the position

As a Cloud DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer at Animoto, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our existing AWS infrastructure, which is primarily defined using Terraform. You will work fairly independently alongside a product team, focusing on iteratively enhancing our infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and observability systems. Your responsibilities will include proposing and implementing improvements that meet the needs of our developers while managing costs and ensuring a good user experience. Once you are up to speed, you will also be included in the on-call cycle, which is an essential part of maintaining our services. In your first week, you will complete your initial setup and onboarding, gaining an understanding of our software and development processes. By the end of your first month, you will have familiarized yourself with our infrastructure and CI/CD systems, contributing to maintenance, improvements, and optimizations while developing a clear understanding of ongoing projects and team dynamics. After six months, you will be expected to propose and lead significant improvements to our architecture, CI/CD, and observability systems, taking ownership of key infrastructure projects and driving them to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work on interesting products and contribute to open-source communities, all within a supportive and fun company culture that prioritizes autonomy and professional development.
