About the position

The Cloud & DevOps Principal role at Slalom Consulting is designed for a seasoned technology leader who will guide clients in implementing cloud-based solutions primarily on AWS and Azure platforms. This position involves leading a talented team of software engineers and architects to develop innovative solutions that address complex business challenges. The role emphasizes building strong client relationships, mentoring team members, and delivering exceptional digital solutions, including cloud migrations and application architecture.

Responsibilities

• Empower clients to implement cloud-based solutions utilizing AWS/Azure platforms.
• Set the overall direction of the technical solution and implementation of enterprise applications.
• Provide designs for engineers on the project regarding programmatic elements of the implementation.
• Own the content and lead workshops on technical topics with the client.
• Develop architectural artifacts to lead the delivery of successful implementations.
• Engage with technical stakeholders of the client and third parties to understand their systems.
• Shape solutions that deliver business outcomes by getting closer to business stakeholders.
• Grow client relationships.

Requirements

• Proven track record in solving client problems.
• Experience architecting a wide range of AWS solutions including multi-account landing zones and advanced hybrid network integrations.
• Experience delivering custom production enterprise applications on AWS.
• Experience transforming legacy applications into cloud-native applications.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management (ALM) and DevOps automation including CI/CD pipeline architecture using tools such as CodePipeline, GitHub, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of serverless & micro-service management using Lambda, ECS, and EKS.
• Knowledge of modern system integration & analytics services like API Gateway, Eventbridge, Kinesis, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, and OpenSearch Service.
• Experience with identity and security administration platforms such as IAM, Directory Services, and Security Hub.
• Knowledgeable in AWS Platform Data services such as Redshift, Dynamo, S3, and RDS.
• Experience performing AWS well-architected framework reviews.
