About the position

The Cloud DevSecOps Engineer at SAIC plays a critical role in providing cloud and DevSecOps engineering expertise to enhance and optimize technology solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD). This position involves designing, building, and deploying scalable DevSecOps infrastructure, focusing on continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to accelerate secure application development in cloud environments. The engineer will also ensure a security-first approach throughout the development lifecycle and coordinate with third-party vendors to integrate necessary tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide cloud and DevSecOps engineering expertise to systems engineering efforts.
• Develop and build scalable, automated DevSecOps infrastructure for CI/CD pipelines.
• Support planning, design, and development of FedRAMP authorized cloud-based capabilities.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and OEMs to integrate DevSecOps tools and processes.
• Offer recommendations on cloud strategies and tool selection for CI/CD.
• Analyze system needs focusing on automation, security, and scalability.
• Design and optimize cloud-based DevSecOps pipelines in collaboration with architects.
• Develop and maintain functional design specifications and project plans.
• Deploy, test, and debug DevSecOps pipeline automation components.
• Develop integrated system test requirements and strategies for end-to-end testing.
• Design and implement backup procedures and monitor pipeline performance.
• Monitor cloud resource consumption, application performance, and system security.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Nine (9) or more years of related experience, with additional years considered in lieu of a degree.
• Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Must meet Information Assurance requirements in accordance with DoD 8140 (Security+, CISSP, etc.).
• AWS and/or Azure certification with familiarity in enterprise cloud and DevSecOps tools.

Nice-to-haves

• MA/MS degree.
• Seven (7) or more years of experience.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience in implementing secure CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with GitLab for source code management and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tooling.
• Experience with Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tooling.
• Knowledge of Nessus / Tenable.io.
• Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure and Configuration as code tools.
• Experience with Open Policy Agent for policy enforcement.
• Knowledge of Artifactory for managing application binaries.
