About the position

The Cloud DevSecOps Engineer at Regions Bank plays a crucial role in advancing the bank's cloud strategy by developing and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines. This position focuses on automating cloud deployments and ensuring best practices in DevSecOps, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and security in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers and IT staff to orchestrate code builds, quality and security analyses, deployments, and automated testing through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Model release candidate CI/CD pipelines to communicate necessary steps for application and service releases.
  • Design and develop fully autonomous CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments, automating infrastructure, services, and application builds.
  • Ensure adherence to software engineering practices, including automated tests and infrastructure tests.
  • Research new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement scalable CI/CD platforms to support high change volumes and fast feedback.
  • Complete project work and contribute to the technical direction of various objectives.
  • Automate operational activities and tasks.
  • Respond to performance issues related to CI/CD platforms.
  • Build tools to reduce errors and enhance customer experiences.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and ensure clear documentation and metrics for Root Cause Analysis.
  • Develop and test Ansible Playbooks, Terraform Scripts, and Packer Scripts to establish immutable infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and ten (10) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six (6) years of relevant DevSecOps experience
  • AWS DevOps certification or Azure DevOps certification
  • Experience in building/deploying cloud native applications - OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Experience in observing real-time metrics in the pipeline and deployment strategies - Blue/Green, Canary Deployment
  • Experience with either AWS or Azure cloud technologies
  • Experience with secrets management solutions like Hashicorp Vault
  • Familiar with implementing Chaos engineering principles in the pipeline
  • Familiar with testing tools for automation and integration into CI/CD pipelines
  • Comfortable in developing pipelines as code using yaml specs and ansible playbooks.
