About the position

As a Cloud Developer Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions that transform our clients for the modern age. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and a proven track record in leading cloud development projects. Your expertise will ensure that our clients' missions are uninterrupted and that they are equipped to face future challenges with innovative cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions.
  • Provide strategic guidance on cloud architecture and best practices.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure cloud solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver cloud-based solutions.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
  • Assist in the development of cloud governance and security policies.
  • Mentor and train junior developers on cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Support the migration of existing applications to cloud environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in cloud development or similar role.
  • Technical Training, Certification(s), or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
