About the position

The Cloud Developer I position at Amentum is a key role within a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a mission-critical application hosted in the AWS Gov Cloud. This role emphasizes automation through a CI/CD pipeline and involves collaboration with cloud engineers and developers to implement innovative cloud technologies that support national security missions. The position requires a focus on AWS Cloud Development, automation, and site reliability (DevOps), with responsibilities including task management, tracking, and reporting on project accomplishments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve a mission-critical application in the AWS Gov Cloud.
• Implement and learn cutting-edge cloud technologies and services.
• Manage specific tasks and ensure timely implementation of solutions and schedules.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Development leads to support agile development projects.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines for automation of tasks and data transfer.
• Work within a team environment to complete projects using agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a technical role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing innovative technical solutions.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google cloud solutions.
• Experience in architecting and migrating on-premises applications to cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in software design and implementation using Python or Java.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience administering and patching Windows Servers.
• Proven ability to use Microsoft Office tools effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• FBI Experience.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud / SC2S.
• Familiarity with Git and GitFlow.
• Experience with GitLab and GitLab Runner.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence for reporting and analysis.
